Rosemary- a very magical plant, it's oil and fragrance are healing. It's also used in protection and sea magic. It is sometimes called the elf plant. It's associated meaning is fidelity and remembrance so it is traditionally used for weddings, funerals, and births. Faerylore says that fae are enchanted by the scent. It is a favorite of the fae and also attracts butterflies.
St. Johns Wort- a healing herb. Since it also has a strong protective quality against evil, it can break faery spells and all illnesses caused by them. Hang this herb in your house for protection and over the bed to protect against nightmares.
Thyme- this is their favorite! They can be seen playing happily amongst it. Also attracts bees and butterflies. It is also said that thyme draws fae into your sleeping quarters. Inspires courage and renewed energy.
Ferns- grow near thyme with plenty of moss around and the faeries will make their beds in it. Ferns are powerful protectants and a favorite of the faeries.
Parsley- if you plant parsley near other plants, it will keep aphids away. This herb attracts bees which the fae love!
Vervain- an herb of mystery and enchantments, it is said to have power over locks and bolts. It is also used for love spells and amulets and is a lucky herb for brides. Also good for protection magic. It cures wounds and banishes many illnesses. Another faery favorite.
Yarrow- is called a witch's and woman's herb. It is known to be a breaker of spells. Used in love and marriage charms as well as for divination. It is also a favorite of the fae.
