TAI CHI
Tai Chi is a soft, or internal form of Chinese martial arts
incorporating flowing and precise movements emphasizing force
rather than physical strength.
Today Tai Chi has found popularity as an exercise for both
spiritual and physical well being. Tai Chi has been called
meditation in motion as its emphasizes complete relaxation
through movement.
The practice of Tai Chi increases vitality by promoting the
flow of Chi within the body. Chi is an ancient Chinese word
for life force energy or ̉breathÓ. When this energy is blocked,
it is said to be the cause of illness. Two ways to free up
the flow are with acupuncture and Tai Chi.
Tai Chi benefits people of all ages.
Although videotapes are very useful in learning Tai Chi, it
is recommended to have a Tai Chi instructor teach you the
basic movements.
